About McKayla
Rooted in the mountains of Western North Carolina, McKayla’s music carries the grit of where she comes from and the depth of a life deeply experienced.
After stepping away from music, she moved through seasons of heartbreak, survival, hard lessons, and rebuilding. Her song “Lie” speaks to one of those chapters — a raw reflection born from a painful relationship and the clarity it takes to finally name the truth.
But McKayla’s story has never been only about what she endured. It is also about what shaped her. “Grandma’s Words” reaches back to the family wisdom, faith, and mountain roots that helped form her — the kind of guidance that stays in your bones long after childhood.
Action-oriented by nature, McKayla educated herself in law, ownership, and the business side of creative work, taking to heart the advice to “always be the smartest person in the room when it comes to business.” Now recently married and expecting her first child, she returns to her roots with more life behind her and more truth in her voice.
